About Abbey Sweeney
My name is Abbey Sweeney, i am 24 and live in the North West.
I started riding at a young age and initially stopped riding to change from riding a horse to riding a motor-cross bike!
At the age of 11 i started riding again at my local riding school, Ryders Farm Equestrian Centre, and aged 13 got my first pony, a Welsh Section D called William (pictured to the left)
William took me from riding club events and unaffiliated jumping to county level showing and British Dressage to Elementary Level.
After 7 years of owning William i decided it was time to add to my team and purchased Hank, a 15hh 7yo Connemara gelding. I purchased Hank with the intention of low level eventing. Although Hank taught me a lot and took me to my first affiliated BSJA and BE, it wasn't his preferred job (preferred job was eating) so in 2016 he was sold to a lovely home.
In September 2016 William sadly had to be put to sleep at the age of 21.
After months of looking for my next project I found Frenchie, 6yo Irish Sports horse Mare. Frenchie taught me what there was to know about sports horses and took us round our first BE event together double clear. After a year with her I decided it was time to move on and sold her during 2018.
I am currently working my way up the BHS exams and also studying Sports Psychology.
Last year I passed my Equine Competition Psychology Certificate.
I am passionate about helping riders achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves.
I have 2 current rides Sansa and Edward, more information on them can be found on the current horses page.
